Nine Vicious Is Building His Own Lane With New Album SEDITION
Atlanta's rap scene has never been short on artists willing to experiment, and Nine Vicious is becoming one of the newer names worth paying attention to. After gaining traction in the underground and drawing early comparisons to Young Thug, the Georgia rapper has spent the last two years releasing music at a pace that makes it difficult to ignore him.
Now, he's back again with SEDITION, a 15-track project released September 11 through Studio Addicts/Create Music Group. The album runs approximately 45 minutes and includes tracks like “Anytime,” “Cracker,” “Mind Racing,” “Sing To Your Heart,” “Casino,” “Chateau Marmont” and “Zone 3,” with NDO Dee appearing on “U.O.E.N.O.”

The release also continues an unusually active run for Nine. SEDITION follows EMOTIONS, which arrived in April with 23 tracks, and B4EM, released earlier this year. Just one week before SEDITION, he released the single “Over N Over.” Apple Music currently lists SEDITION as his latest release.
From the Underground to a Bigger Conversation
Born in Athens and raised in Atlanta, Nine Vicious began releasing music online years before his current rise. His wider breakthrough came around 2024 with “U Fancy?,” followed by a prolific 2025 run that included Studio Addict, Tumblr Music and For Nothing. His music moves between melodic delivery and more distorted, unpredictable vocals, placing him within the experimental side of Atlanta's newer rap landscape.
The Young Thug influence has been difficult to miss, and eventually that connection became more than a comparison.
In early 2025, Nine was publicly connected to Young Thug's Young Stoner Life label. Our Generation Music reported the signing after YSL artist Lil Gotit said Nine had joined the roster, and Young Thug publicly co-signed Nine around the same period.
But calling Nine Vicious “the new YSL artist” today isn't quite accurate.
The current status of that relationship is complicated.
In June 2026, Young Thug said during a PlaqueBoyMax livestream that Nine was still signed to him and claimed he had re-signed the rapper for millions. Nine appeared to publicly dispute that statement, responding “Capppyyyyyiaannnaaa” after the comments circulated online. Complex also reported that Nine had previously indicated in 2025 that he was no longer with YSL.
That makes the more accurate description a Georgia rapper whose rise has been closely connected to YSL and Young Thug, but whose current YSL status remains publicly disputed.
Nine Vicious Hasn't Been Afraid to Experiment
Part of what makes Nine interesting within Atlanta's current generation is that his music doesn't sit completely inside traditional Atlanta trap.
His delivery can shift from melodic and restrained to distorted and intentionally unpredictable. On EMOTIONS, Apple Music noted the Young Thug influence while also pointing toward rage elements associated with another Atlanta lineage through Playboi Carti. The project moved between aggressive records and more melodic, emotional material, giving Nine room to experiment rather than locking himself into one sound.
That experimentation has also placed him inside a broader underground movement where the boundaries between trap, rage, melodic rap and internet-driven sounds continue to blur.
His visibility grew beyond that scene earlier this year when he appeared among the artists featured during listening events for Ye's then-unreleased Bully. Complex reported that Nine was heard alongside names including Travis Scott and CeeLo Green during March listening events, adding another major co-sign to a rapidly developing résumé.
SEDITION Keeps the Momentum Going
If there's one thing that's already clear about Nine Vicious' career, it's that he isn't waiting long between releases.
Instead of disappearing for a year while trying to manufacture a perfect rollout, he's continued building his catalog. SEDITION arrives only months after the 23-track EMOTIONS, and its September 11 release landed alongside a crowded week of hip-hop that included new projects from Jhené Aiko, EST Gee and Hoodrich Pablo Juan. The album was also included in Power 105.1's Rap Rising roundup of the week's new music.
That consistency matters, particularly for an artist still converting underground attention into a larger audience. Every project gives listeners another entry point while giving Nine more room to define what his sound actually becomes outside of the comparisons that helped introduce him.
Whether SEDITION becomes the project that pushes him significantly further remains to be seen, but the release adds another chapter to one of the more interesting young careers developing out of Georgia right now.
For Atlanta, that's the bigger story.
The city doesn't only produce the artists already dominating mainstream rap. There's another generation underneath them experimenting with the sound, aesthetics and release strategies that could influence what Atlanta rap looks like next.
Nine Vicious is increasingly becoming part of that conversation.
