New Music Friday: Quavo, Victoria Monét, Drake, YUNG MIAMI + More Drop New Music
October is starting with a packed Friday and at The Campaign ATL - just know you’ll always discover music from artists you know or artists you’ve never even heard of.
From major album releases to deluxe editions, anniversary projects and newer artists continuing to build momentum, there is a lot of music to get into this week.
Here are some of the releases that should be on your radar today.
Quavo — QRÖMELIFE
Quavo returned with his third solo album, QRÖMELIFE, a 14-track project executive produced by Pharrell Williams. The album includes appearances from Offset, Lil Baby and other major names while continuing Quavo’s evolution outside of Migos. Power 100.9
For Atlanta, this is naturally one of the biggest releases of the week. Quavo has been part of the city’s global music story for more than a decade, and QRÖMELIFE represents another chapter in what his solo career looks like moving forward.

The project comes three years after Jaguar II and gives Monét room to continue expanding the R&B sound, songwriting and performance style that helped push her into a much bigger spotlight over the last few years.

Drake — HABIBTI (FOMO)
Drake also added new music today with HABIBTI (FOMO), expanding the original project with four additional records: “Solar Eclipse (Choosin’ Texas Remix)” featuring Don Toliver, “Québec,” “Cold Shoulder” featuring Don Toliver and Yebba, and “Classic Pt. 2.” Power 100.9
The additional songs extend the life of the original project rather than allowing the first release to be the final moment around it — another example of how artists can continue building around a body of work after release day.

Mac Miller — The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary)
Mac Miller’s estate celebrated the 10-year anniversary of The Divine Feminine with an expanded edition of the project that includes three previously unreleased songs from the album’s recording sessions. Billboard
Originally released in 2016, the album marked one of the more melodic and experimental moments in Miller’s career and remains one of the projects fans continue to revisit.

There is plenty more music out today, but these are some of the projects and records we think are worth starting with.
Whether you are checking for Atlanta rap, R&B, Afrobeats or artists operating outside of the mainstream, this week gives listeners a little bit of everything.
And for independent artists watching these releases, pay attention to more than the music. Watch how the projects are being introduced, how long the campaigns continue after release day, what collaborations are being used and how each artist gives people another reason to come back.
